Fairfield Go Green initiative
The Go Green Plan – a strategic initiative spearheaded by some of Fairfield’s most passionate civic leaders – encompasses both the deeply personal and profoundly global notions of HOME and COMMUNITY.
It also is a living, breathing manifestation of what we believe to be truly Midwestern values: sustainability, prosperity, hard work, being one with the land, and that of only taking and using what is needed and giving back to the balance and harmony of the seasons and the bounty of the earth.
But, it is the people that make a place a home, a community. Just as with the city of Fairfield, the Go Green Plan is really about the people whose passion and commitment guide its course.
We believe it is our obligation to be stewards of the natural resources entrusted to us. We believe it is our responsibility to protect our environment. We believe in sustainability, in supporting local farmers, in conservation, in the efficient and safe use of energy. We believe in the well being of our home, our community and of the world at large. We believe in acting collectively.
The Go Green community site is a resource, a place to listen and to share. It is a place that honors the diversity of opinions and interests in our community, presents ways to increase the quality of life for all and that will enhance the economic vitality of Fairfield.
